Welcome gymnasts and families!

We are a recreational gymnastics club based in the Admiral District of West Seattle. Our goal is for each of our students to improve their self-confidence, body awareness, and hopefully learn a few gymnastics skills while having fun in a safe, positive environment. We look forward to seeing you soon.

To Parents and Families of the Gymnasts

The following is a collection of things you, as a parent or guardian, will want to know before enrolling in our academy. If you have any additional questions please feel free to ask.

Things you can do to help:

  • Be on time, maybe a little early. Warm up is a very important part of class. In addition all students should use the rest room before class.
  • Be sure you and any other spectators under your supervision remain in the spectating area. This helps keep everyone safe. Also try and keep the spectating area clean, put snack refuse in the garbage can.
  • Go over the attached safety sheet, and review proper behavior with your child on the way to class. Please, be sure your child has on proper attire.
  • One of the keys to being successful in the sport of gymnastics is repetition. Encourage your student to practice at home. Ask them to show or tell you about what they learned in class.
  • Please look for overall improvement. It is of no concern to us whether or not your child becomes an Olympian. Each student learns at his or her own pace. Some students will catch on very quickly, and some more slowly. If you are concerned your child is not progressing fast enough please speak to his or her instructor.

Communication: In addition to the things listed above, you can help us by keeping open lines of communication. Get to know your child’s teacher, use our comment box, or feel free to talk to or call Echo. Your input is what helps make changes and improvements to our program. I borrowed a slogan from a friend who runs a gymnastics club in Woodinville.

"If you like us, tell others.
If you don’t, tell us."

Policies and procedures: Here are the specifics of make up classes, payments, fees and closures.

Tuition and fees:

  • Tuition is due the first week of every 4-week session. If tuition is not paid by the end of the first week, there will be a $10 late fee added. If tuition is more than 30 days past due, your child will not be able to participate in class.
  • In addition to the tuition there is an enrollment fee of $25 for the first child and $5 for each additional child in the same family. This is a one-time fee as long as your child continues to be enrolled. If your child stops taking class the fee will be reassessed upon return.
  • Neither tuition nor enrollment fees are refundable.

Methods of Payment: We accept cash or checks at this time. Checks are preferred. We do not at this time accept credit or debit. There will be a $25 fee assessed for all returned checks.

Make up classes:

  • Please call the office and let us know if your child will be missing a class.
  • Only one make-up class will be allowed per 4-week session for classes missed because of illness or other personal reasons. If the gym is closed because a holiday (Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Halloween, and Thanksgiving) falls during the session, a second make-up class will be allowed.
  • It is the parents’ responsibility to arrange the make up class with the office. The make up class needs to be scheduled ahead of time.
  • The missed class must be made up with in eight weeks.
  • Tuition is never prorated because of missed classes.

Inclement weather: Class is almost never canceled because of poor weather. If you suspect that class may be canceled, call the office one-hour before the start of your class, and the machine will have closure information. If we do have a poor weather cancellation, it will be treated as a holiday for make up purposes

Proper Behavior and Discipline: We expect each of our students to treat other students, the staff, and the gym with respect. Each student is a part of creating and maintaining a positive atmosphere. If a student is acting in a manner that is either disrespectful or unsafe to themselves or others, they will be given a short time out. After which they will be asked if they would like to return. Children will always be given a second chance.

No Smoking: There is no smoking permitted on West Side Gymnastics Academy LLC premises.

Referral Policy: If you refer a friend to West Side Gymnastics Academy LLC who signs up for a gymnastics class and gives your name at the time of sign up, you will receive $5 off your next session tuition. It’s our way of thanking you for spreading the word.

Emergency Information: Please be sure to completely fill out the health, emergency, and liability forms when you sign your child up for classes. In addition be sure to update this information any time there is a change (emergency contact, address, or phone numbers).

Injuries, Illness, or Surgery: Please keep us informed about anything regarding your child’s health. This helps us keep everybody in the gym healthy. We especially need to know if your child has had any recent ear infections as that may impair their equilibrium.
